Year 3 & 4 - Ruby
Welcome to Ruby Class!
We are a excited set of learners with some of us just embarking on our Key Stage 2 journey! There are 24 children in our class made up of year 3 and year 4 children. Our teachers are Miss Wagstaff and Mrs Hodgson. On a Monday Mrs Hodgson teaches us Maths, English, PSHE, Science and PE. Then Miss Wagstaff teaches us for the other 4 days. Every day we study Maths and English. Then across the week we cover all the other subjects. Our first history topic is Ancient Egypt and we are going on a trip to find out all about mummification to Liverpool Museum.
We have a busy and fun time in school with interesting lessons inside and outside the classroom. Our focus is to become more independent now we are in Key Stage 2. Most of the children have applied for a job - we take pleasure in giving up our time to help the grown ups in school. Our application forms were detailed and thorough!
Reading is important and we love going to visit the library each week and enjoy listening to our class novels. We are all striving to become confident and fluent readers.
We love collecting knowledge and new vocabulary. Our Knowledge Journals are a great way to store our knowledge and we love our end of term quizzes to see how much we have remembered.
Our homework is given out either Monday or Tuesday and then due back in the following week. Every night we aim to read our books, practise our spellings and multiplication tables.
We really look forward to our learning outside. We have a wonderful field with a Willow Classroom and a tunnel and tyres to play on. We enjoy having a Maths trail outside and love running around finding clues and solving problems to help us with our learning.
We are an enthusiastic and hard working class!
