If your child is poorly please telephone school by 9:30am. We have a first response system which means that if we haven’t heard from parents by this time Mrs Shaw our secretary will contact the child’s home. This is so we can account for the safety of all our children. If your child is absent for more than one day please either send a note in to their class teacher, phone DAILY or contact school in person. If you know in advance that your child is going to be absent, for example a dentist appointment, please send a letter to your child’s class teacher before the absence. It is also a security requirement that you sign your child out in the book that is held in the entrance area of school, stating whether they will be returning to school that day. All parents are asked for at least 2 contact details in case of an emergency or sickness. Please let us know straight away if this changes. The Educational Service will, if necessary, assist parents and children with specific problems relating to home/school matters. They also make home visits in cases where attendance is a problem. We are required to publish data relating to the rate of unauthorised absence in the school on an annual basis. This is published in the additional information.
